Acacia Mining & Barrick Gold

According to World Bank estimates, artisanal gold mining accounts for 10 to 20% of the world's total gold production, with a significant portion of this production coming from African countries. There is a wave of interest in the country from investors and international exploration and mining companies. Due to the significant reserves of gold that remain insufficiently explored, the Kenyan industry can become a driving force for socially and environmentally responsible economic development in the western regions.

Agribusiness

In the context of dynamically developing and cross-border markets, small farmers and representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises in rural areas act as the foundation of the economic system and key producers of food products. We are investing in business models that contribute to the formation of sustainable and inclusive value chains in the agricultural sector.

Financial services

We invest in companies that affect the access of all segments of the population to financial services. Our priority sectors include microfinance, fintech, small and medium-sized banks, money operators, correspondent banking and peer-to-peer lenders. These segments not only open up new horizons for users, but also contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and fair financial ecosystem.

SDG500 is a coalition of private and public sector entities, including United Nations bodies, nongovernmental organisations and Bamboo. This coalition is a groundbreaking USD$500 million investment platform to accelerate progress towards the SDGs

ESG Risk Management

Our Funds under management monitor both positive impact created through our investments, as well as Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks. In alignment with the sustainability-related disclosures in the financial services sector (“SFDR”) Regulation, Global Partners discloses how ESG risks are integrated in investment decisions and monitored along the investment lifecycle.
